The resources of civilization
are not yet exhausted, or so the name of this mostly pointless blog goes.
That is actually a quote by Gladstone, a 19th-century prime minister of the UK. The quote, in context, was actually a thinly-veiled threat of violence against Ireland should the people there refuse to follow a controversial land reform law. Given this, know that I chose the title in question only because it struck me as intriguing, not because of any support for Gladstone's Ireland policy :)
See here for a the context of the quote, as well as an introduction to the interesting historical figure of Charles Stewart Parnell, a notable Irish nationalist of anglo-irish descent.
