The resources of civilization
are not yet exhausted, or so the name of this mostly pointless blog goes.
That is actually a quote by Gladstone, a 19th-century prime minister of the UK. The quote, in context, was actually a thinly-veiled threat of violence against Ireland should the people there refuse to follow a controversial land reform law. Given this, know that I chose the title in question only because it struck me as intriguing, not because of any support for Gladstone's Ireland policy :)
See here for a the context of the quote, as well as an introduction to the interesting historical figure of Charles Stewart Parnell, a notable Irish nationalist of anglo-irish descent.

Tune In, Turn On, Bug Out!
'Tune In, Turn On, Bug Out' is probably my favorite compilation album. The album was released in 1997 by BMG Canada as a free sampler, sent out to radio stations 'round the nation (of Canada).
It's a great compilation. It covers different styles (indie-pop, indie-rock, alt-rock, hip-hop, electronica (of sorts), goth-ish, etc.) The energy that the album has in its diversity is for the most part reflected in the songs; they're lively and interesting and somehow still feel new after 10+ years.
The track listing is:
(Song - Artist)
Transfiguration - Copyright
Pussycat - Mulu
Electricity - Spiritualized
How She Died - Trebel Charger
Anything for You (Remix) - Another Girl
Rocco - Death by Vegas
Sober - Plumb
Soul Obligation (Edit) - Rascalz
Ground (Squeek'd Version) - (Hed) PE
Fire Up The Shoesaw - Lionrock
Rich, Beautiful and Mine - Mrs. Torrance
Touch Me With Your Love - Beth Orton
Trampoline Delay - Transistor Sound and Lighting Company
Slide - Junkster
Built In My World - Bloody Chicletts
Off The Wall - The Alkaholiks
Little Bitta Rosie - The Monoxides
I've just ripped my copy, forever preserving it even in the event of a scratch. Now all I need is a radio show so I can play it to the masses.
